Late Night Dining- dt STL

lwoerther Sep 13, 2007 07:50 AM

I will be in St. Louis tonight- downtown more specifically, and with a large group of people that I know will be looking for food in the wee hours of the morning after we leave the bars. What are the best places for late-nights in the city? All suggestions welcome...

I'm pretty sure City Diner is 24 hours.

Also, there's always the "true" local diners like Eat Right and Courtesy.

I really think it would be a shame for someone to come to St. Louis and not get a slinger at one of our diners. It's one of our indigenous items, and it's got to be one of the ultimate elixirs for a hangover.

The After 24 Diner on Manchester in the Grove area is open 24/7

I agree that when you visit St. Louis you need to go to the diners late at night. Is Uncle Bill's still open on Kingshighway?

It is, but I haven't heard anyone say much nice about it these days. Maybe we're all just older, and not as intoxicated when we go.

I was always sober - maybe not. I remember the strange glass figurines in the lobby. I used to always look at those and wonder who would buy them. I miss Uncle Bill's.
