Old Devil Moon in East Village offers great Southern style breakfasts. Funky atmosphere. Booths. Would appeal to teenagers, I think. On `11th or 12th, off Avenue A.

      Petite Abeille
They might also have fun at City Bakery

Agree, City Bakery will be fun for them. Great hot chocolate, and if they were into Sex and the City (though when it was still on air, they were probably 11; sheesh!), a scene was filmed there.

Blue Water Grill. Right on Union Square. Sit outside while the weather is nice.

I think the kids will like Coffee Shop, but be warned that the service is generally horrid (surly aspiring models and actresses).

Second Good. The area around Greenwich Ave. is full of options.
