Bakeries - Santa Cruz County

jenni Sep 12, 2007 02:17 PM

I am looking for good bakeries in Santa Cruz county, the closer to Aptos, the better. I need to order a sheet cake for my grandparents' 60th anniversary party. I live in San Jose and generally go to Aki's Bakery on Meridian for this sort of thing, but I don't want to risk driving a cake over Hwy 17 to get it to the party! I need something closer.

Thanks :)

Gayle's is good, but I think their cakes are a little more expensive than the Buttery. I don't know what your price range is. I got my wedding cake (German chocolate with chocolate ganache) from the Buttery and got a couple sheet cakes (which was cheaper than getting a large wedding cake). You might also want to check out The Farm on Soquel Dr. in Aptos. I'm not sure if they have sheet cakes, but they have excellent fruit tarts. :)

      Try Heather's Patisserie
      7486 Soquel Drive
      Aptos, CA 95003
      (831) 662-3546
I haven't tried their cakes, but their pastries are delicious and I imagine their cakes would be as well.

I also like the Buttery in Santa Cruz

      or Kelly's

Gayle's is also very good, but the closest would be Heather's.

You should try Gayle's Bakery in Capitola. We usually make a stop for some great goodies every time we make a trip to Capitola/Santa Cruz area.
