Gold after winning the pulitzer. Shortly after that photo of Mr. Gold was originally run I saw him wandering into the new (and pretty good) Tanzore in the old Gaylord space on La Cienega...what a thrill..had to assualt him and tell him no writer -- except Kurt Vonnegut -- has taught me so much or made me laugh so hard. Tanzore has some really unusual and great beers (Allagash anyone? http://www.allagash.com/beer.htm) and a great space for cocktails/appetizers. Not everything I had was amazing but I really enjoyed the tuna lollipops dusted with Indian seasoning and a tandori lamb entree. Some dry chicken with mango skewers didn't impress me much. If they're doing so because they know I'm on chowhound or that I have a blog, then so be it. Kind of like the highway patrol car on the freeway with you -- you're on your best behavior, but then again, you're *supposed to be* on your best behavior. Oh, and here's your Tanzore link.
