Pub Food in Brooklyn

kmcdonne Sep 12, 2007 12:36 PM

I have a friend coming in from Europe end of October. She has expressed an interest in dining in Brooklyn. She loves seafood but another option I think would be some good ole American pub food. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

nothing beats going to pete's ale house on atlantic ave for their bar food, a whiskey of the week, and their hardcore rum punch...then walking over to hank's on atlantic and 3rd ave and listening to some free country or punk rock.

BTW, I think it is known as The Waterfront Ale House now (no Pete's), maybe to avoid confusion with Pete's (Italian) in DUMBO.

They put up an awning about six month ago that says "Pete's Alehouse"

Alchemy on 5th has some good pub food...more unique offerings than Pete's all made with high quality ingredients. They have a great drink menu as well.

Union Hall's upscale pub food is great, especially the blue cheese balls.

Also, not really pubby, but Habana Outpost in Ft. Greene has great drinks ($2.50 SixPoint lagers, plus mojitos and margaritas) and Cuban food and an amazing outdoor seating area that my friends and I have been trying to take advantage of as much as possible before the weather turns.
