Two words describe Uncle Pete's new menu item, burnt ends: "deliciously fantastic"

Over the weekend, I went to Uncle Pete's for my usual barbecue fix of beef and pork ribs. Noticing burnt ends as a new menu item, I decided to try them in addition to my rib order!

Apparently burnt ends are made from the tougher, more fatty, section of the brisket. Pete smokes this brisket part for over 20 hours and the taste is simply out of this world: smokey, moist, tender, and tasty. My DC fervently searched for the crispy carmelized "fatty" pieces, which she described as as decadent as foie gras. I concur.

From now on, I'm only going to order burnt ends at this great barbecue joint. While sides are only so so (imho), I believe Uncle Pete's barbecue is the best in New England. And don't forget to try the unique chicken wings!

Saw the burnt ends story in the Herald today. Fabulous addition to their already-amazing pork spare ribs and Texas beef ribs.

Not the best sides in the world, but when I go for BBQ, meat is what matters most.

And on very, very rare occasion, aspargus or morels.

But it doesn't taste like meat. :))

I actually love grilled aspargus. Grilled wild mushrooms, too. Morels are especially good when grilled after stuffing the cavity with some sort of meat.
