best solo dining spots in Paris

I'm popping over the Channel for the weekend and I am hoping to find some of the best solo dining spots in Paris if anyone can suggest a few? I used to live there myself but would like some fresh perspective on dining.

I'd like to find comfy places to go, sitting maybe at an oyster/tapas style counter or just a neighborhood gem where you feel relaxed at your own table.

I really enjoy visiting places on my own and have made quite a project of it so any help appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Great place for a reasonable solo lunch/dinner is Les Cocottes, No reservations
135, rue Saint-Dominique, (VIIe). Tél. : 01 45 50 10 31. Métro : École-Militaire. Had lunch last Saturday and it is the best concept I have seen with the potential to succeed in most major cities if the quality of the food is kept at a high level.
Its part of the Christian Constant restaurant and desert/chocolate empire on the 7th. Les Cocottes is a 'French diner' with a long counter and some 2 and 4 top tables. The food is prepared in individual 'cocottes' cast iron pots. Great food and deserts at reasonable prices. Had a salad and coq au vin with caraffe of wine for 35€

I thought it was two different Christian Constants. One is a top cholatier the other top restauranteur (Les Coccottes, Cafe Constant, Les Fables des Fontaine etc). Both very good but definitely not the same "empire".

You are right, Phil. The two Constants are two different people, both brilliant in what they're doing.

What are the chances two people would have the same name, be in the food business and have a presence in the 7th. Who knew !!!

The chocolatier Constant is on Rue d'Assas, in the 6th arr.! But still...

One place that I like solo is Les Fontaines on rue Soufflot in the 5me. It looks rather like a bar, but is really a great neighborhood restaurant with delicious renditions of traditional bistro food.

I always seem to meet interesting folks to talk to while dining there!

              ChefJune,

Thanks so much for this recommendation; I had a great time, and discovered a great wine there.

I also had a good time at Chez Nenesse, at 17, Rue Saintonge, in the 3rd; the food was not quite as good, but a really nice atmosphere; quiet.

OK, here's how confused I was; I thought I went to Chez Nenesse, actually I went to Amisphere. 14 r Normandie.
