Like pie, need help. Greensboro, NC

We've lived here in Greensboro for over a year now and though we're eating well and enjoying ourselves, can't seem to find a great place to get pie. (Have suffered some disappointments at random smokey diners.) Old-fashioned pie's what we want! Tart cherry, fluffy meringue, almost-inedibly tart key lime.... Our biggest pie holiday is comin' up (anniversary) and we're pinning all our hopes on you, so don't let us down! Revolving pie case though very nice is not required and we're willing to travel an hour in each direction. Any help is appreciated.

You have GOT to try the key lime pie at Southern Lights. It's one of those desserts that, if you don't get it, you'll wish you had!

Thanks again for the Sweet Tooth Heaven rec. Talked to Bonita on the phone - she said she could make us up a sour key lime whenever we wanted! Crazy, huh? Since they close tonight at 6, we won't make it for our anniversary but we are definately planning a trip there soon. For tonight we decided to give Ganache a try since I found out they have cherry pie and it's right down the road. Hope it's good!

What about Ganache in downtown? I know they make great cakes and pastries.

Tried Ganache last night.....sad to report it wasn't as good as might've been hoped. Maybe we went too late (around 9:15 pm- closing time: 10 pm) or ordered wrong, i.e pie instead of cake or pastry?
Was bereft to discover the Cherry Pie was actually Cherry Crumb Pie (really sweet) and the Key Lime Pie, though it had stunning architecture, suffered in flavor (not even a little bit tart!). We did notice plenty of smart looking cakes in the case and will go back to try some German Chocolate when we can afford the extra calories sometime. For the poster who likes cookies, they had a pretty big selection- not sure how they taste of course.

My best rec is to contact Bonita at Sweet Tooth Heaven in Mebane. She may not have a revolving pie case, but I'm pretty sure she can make whatever it is you crave, be it pastry, cake or pie. (And I'm a fellow pie-aholic, too!)

Is this a bakery, restaurant, or caterer? I'm always looking for good bakeries and have been generally disappointed with the offerings in central NC. My main thing is cookies, but good pastries and cakes are great too.

Sweet Tooth Heaven is a bakery/coffee shop. Bonita is a former long-time baker for a catering company, and I believe that's how she got her magic ability to look at a picture of whatever you want and not only make it but make it better.
