I highly recommend Moe's South Western...we go there every time we're in Ann Arbor visiting family! We like Moe's more than Qdoba.

Yep, so far Chipotle has been my stand in for California style burritos. Plus with the Niman Ranch pork and other natural meats it just feels healthier. Good mexican/cal-mex is what I miss most from California/Colorado. sigh...

Big 10 burritos are somewhat decent. Qdoba is a joke, sorry. The accepatable place for a burrito around Ann Arbor is Chipotle, off of Washtenaw and Huron Pkwy (next to the Beaner's coffe shop). The place is well-designed, clean and fun to be in. They mostly used naturally-raised beef and pork, which is great -- considering they are a chain. The service is also fast and courteous.

And there's the big key: they offer pork, or carnitas. Pork burritos are my preference, plus their hominy salsa is pretty good, too. For a chain, dontcha know.

We tried Chipotle last Friday night. It wasn't too bad. No Taqueria San Jose in Oakland, but it filled the craving. Thanks for the advice!

I'm not a huge fan of chain restys, but there is a nice Qdoba that is just off I-23 by the Whole Foods market in AA. The food tends to be bland, but they have decent salsa and picante for free.

Since The Burro closed about 10 years ago, there really hasn't been a GREAT burrito in Ann Arbor. At least not that I'm aware of... I'd love to be proven wrong.

Panchero's, Big 10, and Tios are probably all worth a try, and they're all a little different in execution, but I wouldn't get your hopes up too much. I doubt they will compare favorably to what you know from CA. Honestly, I prefer Chipotle (*gasp* chain!) to all of them.

no idea what california burritos are like. Tios wet burritos are generally considered gut busters (in a good-ish way) and Banditos has make your own creation burritos. Both decent, not fabulous. There is a dearth of good Mexican food choices in A2.
