Going away dinner near/around Kenomore

I am moving to San Francisco (I know you are all jealous of my soon to be dinning options) and would love some suggestions for a going away dinner around the area. It will be a group of about 10 of my close friends so someplace where we can talk and be a bit boisterous would be great. Originally we planned on Eastern Standard, but that might prove to be too expensive for some people.

Later we will probably go to Lucky Strikes or the top of Boylston so somewhere in that area. Any suggestions for uniquely Boston place around would be great.

The friends without much cash can always get a mussels/fries app, burger, grilled cheese/fries etc. and keep the meal under $15. This would be the most comfortable space in the area for sure. There's also Audobon.

I'd probably try Island Hopper for the Kueh Pie Tee, and maybe stroll over to Bhindi Bazaar. Haven't found it anywhere else in the country. SF's Singapore/Malaysian food is decent but nothing like Aneka Rasa here.

How 'bout Taberna De Haro, 999 Beacon St? It's in Brookline, but pretty close to Kenmore.

Petite Robert is wonderful, one of our favorites. If that doesn'twork and you want something much more casual check out Island Hopper.

There's always India Quality, for excellent, casual Indian.

We had a friend's birthday dinner there last fall with about a dozen people. They set up a nice booth/table combination in the back of the restaurant. It was just enough out of the way for us to have a bit more freedom to talk among ourselves without taking over the whole restaurant. The food was tasty as always. :-)

Not sure if this is a "uniquely Boston" place, but Betty's Wok and Noodle Dinner is a fun place to go with a group. It is at the corrner of Huntington and Mass Ave.

petit bistro robert is in kenmore - its small but i think could do 10 people. informal and just up the block on beacon is Audubon Lounge and, if you keep going, Elephant Walk.
