A great steak in Sherman Oaks?

alohaanna Sep 11, 2007 09:42 AM

I am looking to meet a friend for a good steak somewhere close to the 405 and 101 in the valley? Any suggestions? A good martini would be nice too.

Right at the intersection of the 405 and 101 is the Valley Inn. Its an old red booth place with steaks and a bar. Its just south of ventura Blvd and just west of the 405.

Mistral. good stiff drinks, great steaks, and i love the very oldschool french atmosphere.

Max has the best filet mignon and very good martinis, with the steak much better than those at Mistral or Pinot Bistro. Valley Inn, while a steakhouse in name, is a complete notch below any of the above 3, yet not bad.

Boneyard Bistro has a wine and beer license only so, no martinis but they do have a couple of rib-eyes on the menu that I'd imagine are quite good because their food is generally, quite good.

Yes, for a ribeye and a bottle of wine or beer if so inclined, the Boneyard is the ONLY place to go. Order the ribeys by size and price, medium rare, and carne galore is on its way!
