The Public Market is right across the street and has a pretty good variety of places.

You're confusing the two malls. The Public Market's across the street from the UA multiplex. AMC's next to Ikea.

What's good in the public market area? I have a car so it's possible to bop over to the UA area, given its close proximity to AMC.

IIRC, the Greek place was really good there. There are a bunch of food kiosks there with different cuisines. I haven't been there in a while, but the Greek food stood out to me. I think there's a Jamacian spot in there that's good too.

Don't know when you're going but the Public Market is closed this week for renovations or cleaning or whatever. I'm not sure how long it will be closed. The Vietnamese is ok if you get the bun and not the steam table stuff. The Afghan place is ok. The Greek place has good tabouli but I haven't had good luck with anything else there.

I agree with the Public Market. It is not really "across the street," it's a couple of stoplights away, but it is definitely close enough for a convenient pre-dinner bite to eat. The prices and variety cannot be beat in that part of town.

I think the public market is closed this week? I saw a sign there last
week saying something about some refurbishing work going on.
I'm not sure how to check without going there. Maybe call
the Border's book store that's attached?

Jef hearts the Ikea cafeteria. But Jef is a very unreliable critic when it
comes to Swedish meatballs.

I've tried the Buckthorn Grill and that Asquew place, both located at the AMC complex. Buckthorn has what I thought was a good steak sandwich for $10 and decent fries. That is a big sandwich. I've never been there for dinner but they have some weekday dinner specials that look interesting. The Buckthorn salad has meat in it and it's popular with the low carb crowd. Actually I've had it and it's not that bad. I have tried Asquew several times but I don't get it. At Asquew everything is on a skewer which seems cute in concept I guess but food here seems kind of bland and overcooked to me. On the other hand, perhaps I am a bad judge because I find most American food to be bland and overcooked. That place is really busy too.

That mall across the street that everyone is talking about is really cheap food, free parking and yeah lots of choices. I haven't been there for a while so I can't remember which ones are really good, sorry.
