Lehman College area any Great Restaurants?
Going to a 4pm function at the college on a Sunday and would love a great place after for dinner. Any suggestions? Anything ethnic is great, thanks.

There's a Vietnamese eatery on Jerome Avenue that has gotten high praise here on these boards. If their renovation work is completed it might be worth a visit.

Then, of course, you have Arthur Avenue for Italian which is not too far from the college really.
If you can travel north of the college: http://www.ramblinghouse.com/

what part of the bronx is Lehman College considered so I can do some research for some placed to eat?

The area is called "Bedford Park", the college runs South from Bedford Park Blvd. (200th St.) between Goulden Avenue (the Jerome Park Reservoir) and Jerome Avenue. It's slightly north of the Kingsbridge Armory and south of Bronx HS of Science.

I called the Vietnamese place last month, and they said the opening was going to be the 2nd week of Sept. You can always call them up at 718-584-5228. But I stopped by the the other day, and they are still renovating. It's called the "World of Seafood" (still vietnamese cuisine).
There is a rec for Mexican spot going towards the East of Bedford Park Blvd. Check this out: http://www.chowhound.com/topics/428886
I like going to this Korean restaurant that is between the Grand Concourse and East Mosholo Parkway, on 204th street. They changed their names several times, but you can't miss it.

is the korean place you speak of near the bedford park train station? if so, wow - i can't believe it's still there, even if it's undergone reincarnations. i used to stopped by there time to time for the lunch specials when i gave myself really long lunches at bronx science. ;-)
i remember it being a small place, but it was cheap and delicious. memories.

Linda, I know which one you talk about. I used to love their soups. They closed the shop around two years ago. It is now a discount bread spot. It’s still great for the neighborhood.
They used to be 3 restaurants and Suzies Korean store on 204th Street. But they are also long gone, and only one more BBQ/Chinese Korean restaurant.

thanks for the update - that's too bad. i remember there was an older couple that ran the place and were sweet in a short, parental, korean way. ;-)

Sorry to be so late to this thread.
I walked that strip looking for the place, and seem to have missed it. If you figure out the name or address of this mystery Chinese/Korean place, please let us know!
