Gooseberry! Addition of Le Bon Vivant?
I have definitely "settled" on Reubens and your Rx French Connection. I have two nights open but may use one to eat at Le Bon Viviant. Since you are my foodie connection in South Africa, can you recommned that we eat there? Have you enjoyed a meal there? Thanks, Diane

OK, here's the deal with Le Bon Vivant, as far as I can make out: it has a rep as a 'best kept secret' - locals frequent it. But others I know said the ambiance is very 'oudoos' (SA slang for something old-fashioned, and not in a nice way). So if ambaince isn't your key requirement (I suspect it might be more cute-folksy) give it a bash. And of course, report back to us here at Chowhound!

I'm flattered to be your 'foodie connection' in South Africa! Not sure if it is deserved, especially considering how little I've eaten out recently!
I have not eaten at Le Bon Vivant myself. Other people have reported favourably. I will speak to some local friends and see if anyone has eaten there recently. Even if I can't find any info, with Reubens and French Connection on the list, perhaps a 'wild card' won't go amiss.
