Risotto - Who Serves The Best...?

Its never been a "go -to" dish for me but I've recently started to develop a serious craving for it (?) -- preferring the simpler versions that don't include seafood, meat or too many different types of vegetables. Where should I try/do you love? Uptown or downtown...willing to travel. :)

Picholine used to have a duck and wild mushroom risotto that is amazing.

I agree. We just ate there last Friday and they are better than ever. By the way, don't be afraid to order two starters (the risotto is a starter) as the risotto is quite rich.

Didn't risotteria close? I like Da Andrea's risotto specials... and since i get take out every week, they'll make me risotto by special order (um, saffron, mushroom, and shrimp please, Titziana!)

nope, risotteria is most definitely still there. i just called and spoke with a guy who said the confusion may be due to the vacation they recently took.

Risotteria is my personal fave as well. It most certainly isn't closed as I just ate there last Sat nite. Delicious as usual.

Thank you. Tried the Risotto at Fred's (at Barney's uptown) today. It was great.

i like risotteria on bleecker. they have a long list of risotto options.
i'm sure there are better places but this one is obviously dedicated to risotto and i don't know of any other places with this many risotto options.

it's very cramped and nothing fancy. here are some reviews and a menu:
