Can you explain the context it is used in, such as the recipe, other ingredients?

Good point, sorry. After going back over the recipes I see that it is used in salad. One reference is for one bunch of corn salad and another refers to using 7 oz. The latter refers to a mushroom salad where the mushrooms are served on top of the corn salad.

Corn salad is a synonym of lamb's lettuce, the Italian valeriana, soncino, or gallinella.
