Vox or L'Europe in N. Westchester?
Going out with some friends Friday night. Has anyone been to either? Looking for something in Northern West. off the beaten path. Not looking for a scene. Thanks.

Easy choice for me, It’s Vox. Straightforward, kicked up bistro style menu without pretension. On last visit, a cold pea soup will linger in my memory followed by a roast chicken which was garnished as sort of a deconstructed Coq au Vin, very good. Wife had the seafood fricassee which was excellent. Elegant smooth service, good wine list (a little on the pricey side). Haven’t been to L’Europe in about a year. We found it very stuffy and dated.

I've been to Vox recently, although just for lunch, so I can't give a lengthy report of life under the new chef. We had the scallop and shrimp fricassee and the duck with black rice. Both were superb. Atmosphere was quite pleasant, and service was admirably straightforward and professional. We will definitely return.
