Wendy's Onion rings - Local Oddity? [moved from Boston board]
I know its a chain but im posting here because this seems to be a local oddity. The corporate website has no mention of it, nor have i ever seen or heard of this anywhere else.
I drove by Wendy's in Maynard today and the sign said "try our REAL onion rings"
I didnt stop but i have to admit it got my curiousity....
Anyone ever had these? Or even seen them for that matter?
They've had them in other areas of the country before here - no local oddity.
Compared to most fast food rings, they're pretty good - but I *really* wouldn't go out of your way. If those *'s around the *really* could have more emphasis, it have them.
I had them yesterday. One order had four onion rings and the coating was def falling off. Not so good.
I had them at a Wendy's in New Jersey a couple months ago, and wasn't impressed. I agree that they taste like BK's rings and have that chopped onion meal texture inside instead of the real onion slices.
