Need good food, good beer, and the NFL Ticket
I have a client coming into town next week from Wisconsin who wants to catch the Giants/ Packers game Sunday night. Does anyone have any good reccommendations where they could catch the game and get good food and beer? They'd have to have the NFL ticket, as the game wouldn't be aired otherwise.
I thought of Chickie's and Pete's, but she'll be walking (or cabbing) from the convention center area. Any recs would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!!

charlie's pub on 3rd street in old city has televisions; 3, i think. though it's a small place so i suggest getting there early if you want a table! there's standing room in the back by the pool tables too. i always like the crowds there.
the regular menu is standard pub fare (lots of vegetarian options, too!) but make sure you ask if they have any specials. many times when i go in there they have fish specials that are served with rice in a sauce (sauces vary, and are wacky - brown sugar/spice, cilantro/coconut milk, etc)... a little weird for a sports bar, but damn good eating. i don't know how they make their rice, but it is seriously a little slice o' heaven. :) the hummus platter off the regular menu is tasty, too.

If you are going to be in the rittenhouse square area, Barristers on Sansom between 18th and 19th is a cool bar with 7 flat screen tv's and pretty decent food. The bar is really layed back and I think the food is much better than the fox and the hound. They definitely have the nfl ticket.

The brews at Fox and Hound are great, but the food is abysmal. Call For Pete's Sake (Front Street, Penn's Landing) and see if they have the ticket. Great food, great beers, great atmosphere.

Last time I was in (I catch college football games there sometimes) I know I had a Victory Hop Devil (on tap). I think they also have Boddingtons (I know I've ordered it there before, but I don't remember if it is still there).
They usually have a Sam seasonal, Blue Moon, Bass, I think Troegs and the other usuals.
Food is standard bar food. No better and no worse than average.
If they're showing it, food-wise, Fado's would be a vast improvement (which isn't to say it is great food, just vastly better than the wondrously average Fox and Hound). Ever since their World Cup specials I've been hooked on their corned beef sandwich with a cold glass of Smithwicks.

I can't vouch for their food but the bottle and draft list at The Pour House looks pretty good (Victory, Dogfish Head, Rogue, Troegs, Sly Fox, Paulaner, Flying Fish, Magic Hat, Chimay, Duval, etc). And I understand that thirteen TVs with the NFL ticket surround the bar and dining room.

Hey cheesy :)
I'll second the Fox & Hound to catch the game, but I can't vouch for the food. But down the street at the old Copa Too, Casey from the Royal opened up a new bar called Jose Pistolas-supposed to have a Mexicali vibe. Haven't been there yet, but I'm sure it's an improvement from Copa Too!

The OP asked for NFL Ticket AND good food/ beer (which honestly is probably impossible [from a CH perspective]). Fox & Hounds menu looks utterly predictable. What's their beer list like btw?
Thanks!
PS - For Eagles games (ONLY, no NFL Ticket) I and a couple buds meet up at Grace Tavern. There's always a seat and the beer list and food are CH worthy (Sierra Nevada (Celebrator), Dogfish Head, Yards (Saison), Belgian bottles like Geuze, etc. Belgian frittes served with various local sausages, burgers, etc.

That game is on at 1:00 PM, not Sunday night. The sports bar in the Marriott hotel (is it called Champs?) would probably be able to air it. I can't vouch for the food, but it is right next to the convention center.
Actually, the Eagles are playing on Monday night that week. That game would probably be the default game aired in the Philly market, so NFL Ticket might not be a necessity.
