Restaurants on N. Ft. Lauderdale Blvd

rosygogo Sep 3, 2007 07:37 PM

I will be traveling to Ft. Lauderdale next for an overdue vacation. I will be staying near The Atlantic and will not have a car. I'm looking for restaurant recommendations, preferably places that a single diner will be comfortable having a meal and maybe drinks. All cuisines welcome.

Try Casablanca, with easy walking sitance just a bit south of you (Alhambra and A1A, I believe). Located in a 1920s house with a nice relaxing atmosphere. Eclectic menu -- sit outside on the patio overlooking the ocean.

Thanks for the recommendation. I may be having lunch there tomorrow.

I have passed that placed a number of times but always got side tracked. Please report back and give us the benefit of your experience.

I had several meals at Trina, Spuma (restaurant by the pool) and also from room service. All were very good. I highly recommend the potato ravioli, the lamb pizza, and the tuna carpaccio. The hamburger was the only disappointment. For $15, I'd expect something better than I can get in a NJ diner or the Circus Drive Inn in Wall, NJ. Breakfast selections were good as well.

I enjoyed Grapes Wine Bar on Las Olas. You could eat as little or as much as you wanted and the bartenders were knowledgeable about pairing wine and food. Only disappointment was the lack of Pinot Noirs on the night I was there.

I second the tuna carpaccio dish. It was heaven and so good I ordered TWO! *oink*

Also, we ordered the mussels, which were very good. However, the portion was small and two of them didn't open.

Inside the Atlantic is Trina. I really enjoyed my meal there, but next time I'll sit on the terrace and look at the ocean.
