Best Espresso Shake / Gelato Dessert Drink??

All right Chow-hounders!

I'm looking to expand my horizons for those new coffee shake/fresh espresso/whipped cream drinks.

Beyond the Starbucks Frappaccino and the Ben and Jerry's Buzzachillo are a whole line of artisinal yummy drinks that I am sure are killer.

In Seattle there is a chain called "Tully's" which has incredible fresh espresso shakes which are killer. SO GOOD!

In NYC I can recommend the "Black and White" at the Chocolate Bar, which is fresh espresso, liquid chocolate and vanilla gelato. Really really excellent. I have heard that the shake at Cafe Reggio is really good as well.

But any other gelato + fresh espresso + any other goody is very welcome as a suggestion. Any ideas? Open to travel!

Try an affogotto - vanilla (or chocolate) gelato with fresh espresso poured over. Yummy! I've already introduced several friends to this and they all love it. Any restaurant or cafe can create this delish treat.

I'm all over the affogotto, thanks for the idea! I prefer the one at Al Di La in Brooklyn -- SO GOOD!!!

affogato is one of my all-time fav desserts. if you like the one at Al Di La, try the one at 'Inoteca' - trust me, it's deeelish!!!

exactly what i was going to say too! i think i had one at lure fish bar that was pretty good too.
