Legion of Honor - Sunday Brunch

My wife and I had brunch yesterday. Had the first reservation at 11 and for the first ten minutes or so had the room and the jazz combo all to ourselves. Started with a glass of champagne (included) and good muffins and bread. Then had a fruit bowl followed by choice of three entrees. I had the duck and poached egg which was excellent and my wife had the day scallop which she thoroughly enjoyed. Menu was a little different from that online, but not significantly so. Finished with the chocolate tart with berries. Tab was $48 each and included entrance to the museum as non members. A wonderful experience on a beautiful day in San Francisco.

For a less expensive alternative, the cafe area is a little further back from the jazz combo and you can just grab a pastry and coffee and enjoy the music for much less.

Sounds like fun - thanks for the recommendation. I understand that the regular entrance fee is ten bucks, so $38 for a champagne brunch with good food isn't so bad. The web site didn't mention other drinks (juices) - are they available?

Yes. We could have had Orange Juice or a Mimosa; probably other things as well. We also had excellent coffee and that was included too.
