Best Cheap Eats IN Manhattan?

Looking for New Cheap Eats in Manhattan - anything hidden, mom and pop but no chains please. We like the locals and want to keep it that way.
Many Thanks

Don't know what you consider cheap, and if you're looking for a full meal or just something to eat.

The Bahn Mi at A chau on Mulberry south of Canal is $3.50 for the #6 and incredibly tasty.

I have been enjoying the Fried Flounder sandwich from Kim's Aunt, a cart on 46th and 6th, for lunch at least once a week this summer...big delicious and $4.50.

Vanessa's Dumpling on 14th btwn 3rd and 2nd has a Roast Pork Scallion pancake sandwich for about $4, add the 99 cent red bean bun the size of a softball and you could be pretty full for real cheap.

Check out Sea Thai restaurant on 2nd btwn 4th and 5th. It is good simple food and some of the apps are as low as $3.
