Vintage Press, Visalia

Went to the Vintage Press today with friends for lunch. It was an extremely hot day (read 106) and either the a/c wasn't working correctly or it was a management cut-back, very unconfortable.

On to the food...the burger was $11., VERY small with the normal tomatoes, onions, etc. Had to ask for mayo, mustard. Salmon salads, $15. was advertised as greens, feta, bacon, baby tomatoes. The salmon was there and good, the feta was almost impossible to find and the bacon had almost left town.

Wine, husband ordered so don't know the exact cost. He said it was expensive. It was served in lovely glassware, but I wanted to ask if they were sure they could let that much go.

We've been going to this place for a long time, so I'm sorry to make this report.

  1. Sorry you had a bad experience, as you know they usually do a good job. I was there for lunch in July and had no problems.

The Vintage Press has had a bit of a rough year. 3 employees have died in 9 months.

Cofounder/owner Arlene Vartanian died of cancer in December. One of the servers, Andres Lopez, died in an accident in December also. Then in April Katy McElhinny, another of the employees, died in a car accident.
