Seafood+N.O.Style Italian Recs

I'm looking for a restaurant that offers both good fish/oysters/shrimp N.O.-style plus some old N.O.-Italian-style dishes like veal with crab, paneed this and that, parmigianas, etc. I checked Mandina's menu which doesn't have much Italian and Tommy's is getting some bad reports lately. Is there such a place recommendable? Thanks for your advice.

  1. Adolfo's is one of my favourite restaurants in the world. I've had no luck trying to find their menu on line to provide a link, but there are plenty of reviews. It is most often described as Creole-Italian, and just might suit your needs perfectly.

    2. I haven't been in a long time, but it used to be worth the drive to Sal & Judy's for a meal like this.

      1. R&O has the perfect blend of boiled/fried seafood and italian food. they've got lots of creole italian specialties, like fried softshell crab covered in red gravy. it's kind of a loud family style atmosphere, but I have never been disappointed with their food.

        1. Also, Liuzza's on Bienville.

          1. You might want to try Irene's; Tommy's split off from it years ago, but in my opinion, Irene's has always been better.

              I agree. If they have the crabcakes special, they're wonderful...served on fried mirliton and corn maque choux. Mussels are also excellent. Vincent's on St. Charles is also good as well as Cafe Giovanni.

                Tom Fitzmorris always has good things to say about the seafood at Vincent's. I have yet to make it past the chicken parmigiana oh-my-goodness-melts-my-heart deliciousness. Next time I'll have to give something else a try!
