reading the Tennessee Grill thread led me to the Larkin Express Deli Burmese food comments.... got excited but also noted the 4pm closing time and no weekends. :~ ( But kept reading and went to their details where I saw a different closing time: 10 - 7pm M-F.
Just called to confirm it .... 7pm it is. M-F Looking forward to trying the tea leaf salad and the coconut/chicken noodle soup! Thanks to all for their posts.

I think that due to little nighttime traffic, they are considering closing the restaurant at 4 pm once more. The 7 pm time is really an "experiment" of sorts. So, the best way to help keep Larkin Express Deli open at dinnertime is to go at dinner :)

This place is worth checking out. The tea leaf salad is more authentic vs. Burma Superstar - full leaves at Larkin Express vs. the ground up leaves at Burma Superstar. If you go, also try the fish chowder and the beef lemongrass curry. Both dishes were outstanding. I find the food here better overall vs. Burma Superstar.

The tea leaf salad is indeed worth the trip. I really like the sour vegetable & bamboo side dish, too. A warning for dinnertime patrons: I think the tea leaf salad packs a lot of caffeine, and one time when I ate leftovers for dinner, I was up much of the night.

David, thanks for mentioning that - I read in someone's review that the Ginger Salad was pretty much the same as the Tea Leaf Salad ingredients but with the Ginger in the fermented Tea Leaves place. I understand that the ginger is a bit like a drier pickled version of what you might get with sushi....and this salad won't have the caffeine punch of the Tea Leaves. But fortunately, I don't have a problem with the caffeine so I'll try the TLS anyways.

Great news, now I have a chance at trying the place!
