Lou on Vine closed for vacation?
I've always want to go to Lou but it's been closed since the middle of August. I've never heard of a restaurant going on that long of a vacation in the US. unless it's being bought or going through some kind of major change. Does anyone have any details? I was planning on having a wine and cheese get together some where low key in early Sept. I hope it really does re-open.

Their website says they will reopen next Wednesday, so you're in luck! I agree it seems pretty rare to completely shut down like that for vacation. Maybe they were doing some work on the place?

I remember being in Madrid hoping to score a late lunch, but almost every tapas joint in the city was closed for siesta!
Nearby low-key alternative - Tasca. Also, if you don't mind the atmosphere, Monsieur Marcel.
