Anywhere know of any place even open on Labor Day? I've called Cashions and Saint Ex, with neither serving. Bistro Bis is open, but I'm looking for something more laid back.

Any ideas?

From this week's Tom Sietsema's WaPo chat:

Washington, D.C.: Are there any nice restaurants in the area that are open on Labor Day? Seems from past experience that all the good places are either closed or underpopulated.

Tom Sietsema: A quick search shows that Ardeo, Cafe du Parc, Capital Grille, Hook and Oyamel, among other "nice" destinations, will be open for dinner this coming Monday

Afraid I don't. But..i would bet the the Old Ebbitt Grill is serving brunch. You can't go wrong there.

Ardeo has a good brunch but in the chat they were just looking for places open doesn't mean they will be serving brunch.

And I imagine most places won't because its a Monday---not your usualy brunch day. But you never know.
