2nd Annual London Sake Fair

oonth Aug 30, 2007 01:43 PM

The event described in the link below may be of interest to some of the regular posters here e.g. Kake. I understand that there will also be a food/sake pairing event at Saki on Tuesday 25th September where a number of the breweries will participate.

I probably won't be in town but if anyone goes along to either event, I would be interested to read their feedback.

That does sound interesting; thanks for the heads-up! I haven't made it to Saki yet, though it is on my list following your recent posting. This might be a good opportunity.

To be honest from what I'm hearing from the people at Saki and from my own experience of sake/food pairing soirees, you go to these events more for the drink than the food. So if you're keen to sample Saki's menu just go on a regular night and you'll still be able to drink well off their regular sake list. And try and go before 20th Sept when the current head chef leaves. I'm told that he does quite a lot of off menu omakase stuff (eg chawanmushi with lobster and uni), i'm going to try and do an omakase with him before he exits stage left.
