sushi in woodinville?

ismist Aug 30, 2007 11:46 AM

hello. i am from minnesota and will be helping my brother move to woodinville, washington. i was wondering whether there are any recommended restaurants with great sushi near woodinville, kirkland, etc. ambiance is overrated. i am looking for good, fresh fish - somewhat of a rarity in the midwest (unless the fish is walleye!). thanks!

I've had good luck with Rikki Rikki in Kirkland. It isn't 'Oh My God' level, but it's good. For the non-sushi variety of fish, Kirkland's Third Floor Fish Cafe is pretty good.

Hana Sushi in downtown Bothell is good. The owner, Hoben, was the head sushi chef at Rikki Rikki several years ago.

Izumi in the Totem Lake area of Kirkland is a really great option. The approach is more traditional, but the quality is very high. Ambience is nothing, but the food is memorable.
