Mexican with a Bar

I have found that most of the really good Mexican Places are more of the taqueria style.. Looking for a really good Mexican with a bar and waitress service.. Looking for more then just tacos and burritos...

Tommy's (on Geary Street in the Richmond District) specializes in food from the Yucatan region. An incredible array of tequilas. the place to go for tequila connoisseurs, actually. Yummy.

Tommy's doesn't exactly specialize in Yucatecan food, they have a few dishes but most of the menu is generic Mexican.

Tres Agaves near the ballpark...up and down reviews but it has a bar and waitress service.

Over Tres Agaves, I'd recommend Colibri and Mexico DF in that order.

If you want a trendy scene, then Mexico DF would be the first choice.

I've only been the Mexico DF once for drinks/apps. The tamarind margarita is good and pretty special if you like tamarind.

Puerto's where my friends and I go regularly, but the food's not "really good". It's decent Mexican food (more than just tacos and burritos offered) with a very fun atmosphere and strong cheap margaritas.

Not sure where you are, but Dona Tomas fits the bill.

In Marin, there's Maya Palenque in Ignacio (So. Novato) with a sort of sports bar; and Celia's in San Rafael has a cocktail lounge. The food in both is gringo-predictable.

Mamacita in the Marina. But it isn't authentic and it is PACKED and pretty loud.
