AOC Bistro (Fifth Ave) Brunch Report

My family and I had brunch at AOC Bistro on Sunday. The food was exceptionally good, so wanted to give y'all the scoop.

First of all, the bread in the basket is excellent - great texture, chewy crust. We started with the charcuterie plate - really nice selection of pate, cornichon, olives, saucisson, etc. I had the merguez sandwich - different bread, softer, perfect for sandwiches. One of my sons had the onion soup, again, very good. My husband had a croque madame - unbelievably good, stuffed with ham and covered in cheese, topped with an egg. But the best part of the meal was the french toast (pain perdu) that my youngest son ordered. WOW! I have not had french toast that good, well, ever. It was just delicious (my mouth is watering just thinking about it now!).

We will definitely go back. Great addition to the neighborhood (and hands-down beats Moutarde, which I have always found substandard).
