Quick Hit- Urth Cafe in Santa Moncia

Last night after Dommy and I went to yoga, we headed to Urth on Main street in Santa Monica. It was busy for 10 pm but the good thing was the meters just shut off for the night on the street, and parking was easy.

The menu was smaller than I imagined, just a few salads, sandwiches and soups. Dommy got a 1/2 Grilled Veggie sandwich which was excellent along with a lemon herbal Tea which she liked very much. I had a roasted turkey Panini, which was crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside. it came with a light horseradish cream sauce which made the sandwich.

I also got a bowl of chili for some reason they do not offer cups of soup. This Chili reminded me more of baked beans than chili more molasses and tomato flavor than meat and spice. To Drink I got a very tart lemonade which was good to the last drop.

Service was decent for a place where you order at the counter and have the food delivered but I did have to wander back and get a spoon for the chill. and the porch was nice for sitting and eating.

  1. I still love Urth but they're also kind of dead to me for killing the Melrose Burger, a falafel-y concoction that made for one of the best veggie burgers in town.

I miss the Melrose Burger too. Apparently too few of us ordered it to keep it on the menu permanently. Luckily, their new Greek salad has been a good replacement.
