Great wall chinese restaurant, closed?

aquablue Aug 29, 2007 09:34 AM

Went there last weekend, looking for good dim sum. Door was closed, a sign said it was closed for business. Did it move or is it closed for good?

The thread, http://www.chowhound.com/topics/427562, mentioned they were closed for "rennovations", but I haven't seen any updates posted about it.

Looks like the comma after the link got incorporated into the URL. Here's a "cleaner" link:

Not your fault, I'm sure. I clicked on the darn thing 5 times before I finally figured out what was going on. ;-)

            Thanks for the info.
I stopped by Asahi Bakery today and they told me that Great Wall had a fire in the kitchen and they plan on be back sometime in October.

We do hope that's true -- haven't found anything else on the west side as close to "real" Chinese. Last time I went by, a couple of weeks ago, it looked as deserted as ever. However, we like El Taco Tote a lot, on the corner of the same lot, so the trip was not in vain.

The Great Wall China on Craycroft? If this is the one you mean, it's been opened under new management (the same guy who owns Sakura).

I believe the op is referring to a Great Wall in Scottsdale AZ.

Scottsdale? The Great Wall I knew was at 35th Ave. & Camelback in Phoenix. Is (or was) there another in Scottsdale?

I don't think so. I think I got it confused with Jade Palace.
