Can't see whole reply box

This may be covered farther down the board but I only have a few minutes left to write. Started having a problem today where I click on reply (on the OP message) and a only a small composition window opens. If I tyope for than 3 or 4 lines I am typing over the post below and can't see what I'm typing. When I hit post reply I can see the whole message and can then go back in and edit it, but this is pretty annoying. FYI- this is on Internet Explorer, PC, XP Pro.

This happens to me also, all over this site. When I see something that just isn't "quite right", I click on Refresh and the situation is corrected.

I love this site but this problem is getting to be really annoying. Can the team say if there is any progress being made to figure out what's going on and how to fix it??

As Jacquilynne mentioned earlier, it's been raised as a problem to Engineering along with the other IE problems that popped up. Unfortunately, we don't have anything more than that.

This is still happening for me when I reply to any but the very last post in a thread. I have IE7, and am running on XP. It's doing this right now as I type.

I have also noticed that posts aren't tiling properly on very long threads.

LOL it's happening now as I reply and has been the case for about a week now. I thinkI accidently reported someone today trying to post my reply!

I'm having the same problem. Replying right now it's happening. Don't know if the reply will be posted, or if I'm wasting my time.

I also found that after you start typing, save the post then hit Edit and you get the whole window. It does, however, confuse the machine and it gets stuck on saving and you have to navigate away and then back to see your post.

More input for the tech folk...... it definitely only happens to me when replying to the ORIGINAL post. All other posts have a normal reply window.

I have the same problem and it is happening on this post too. You can keep typing but you can't read it all that well as it gets into the post below.

Here's a workaround until it gets fixed ...

Switch to another window
Go back to the chowhound window. It will be fixed.

Another option is to keep typing,but you won't see what you are keying.

One warning: if you keep typing and try to "Post My Reply", be careful not to click on "Report" for the post below which shows up at approximately the same place. I've lost a couple of posts that way, one which took me a while to search and find a thread.

It's still happening. In addition, I can't hit the "link to a place" because that is overwritten by the post below. aaaargh.

Thank you. If it helps any, this specific reply was in a full reply box but is following the last post in the topic. The shortened box occurs when there is another post BELOW the one being replied to.

Even on this board. My stopgap solution is to write and post my first line and then edit.

I find that when there are a lot of posts on a particular thread, the last post gets cut in half and I can never read the entire thing. Then I scan down beyond the red part to see the post continued.
Am I doing something wrong?
Is there maybe a second page I am unaware of?

I think Chowhound is having a problem with IE. It happens to me when I used IE 7, but not when I use Firefox.

The same thing happened to me earlier, however this reply box seems to be okay.
