Sunday Night Pick

OK the jfoods are going back to NOLA in a few weeks.

Friday night - Brigtsens
Saturday night - Commanders
Sunday night TBD

Would like something fun versus a Cuvee type serious. Tried K-Pauls but you guys know its closed on Sunday nights.

So please help jfoods who will have the 18 and 22 little jfoods with.

mrs jfood insists on a return engagement to Brigtsens and Commanders (and who is jfood to turn down either of these two choices, :-)))and was disappointed jfood screwed up on the last vist with K-Pauls. So we swapped to Sunday night at Commanders, keeping our last meal tradiotion, and are going to K-Pauls on Saturday..

Will report back as always and thanks for the advise on other restos in jfood's new favorite town.

Luke (a John Besh restaurant) is open Sundays.

Cafe Giovanni. Get th chef's "feed me". If you go Wed., Fri., or Sat., there are opera singers who enhance the dining experience. (I'm personally NOT an opera fan. It's more like Broadway /opera, and they don't sing continuously.)

Lola's on Esplanade is open on Sundays and is a great meal and a lot of fun. Their appetizer menu is fantastic. A drive down Esplanade will also show how much the neighborhood has come back.

I don't know if it's fun, exactly, but 2 good places that come to mind for Sunday night dining are GW Fins and Crescent City Steaks. Both are outstanding and open on Sunday.

What about Luke on St. Charles Avenue? it is open 7 nights a week and has great atmosphere.

Galatoire's is open on Sundays. Or take a break from high-end dining and hit Port of Call for a burger. Or how about La Crepe Nanou?

La Crepe Nanou looks perfect for both menu and location. Will give little jfood some bearings on things not too far from her school.

Crepe Nanou is not open Sundays (we drive right by it on the way home from 6:00 service).

I'd go to Martinique. I believe Upperline is open as well. So is Cote Sud, I'm pretty sure, but you'd have to call them. Or something cheap but great like Lebanon's.

I live near Tulane, and once counted 40 restaurants within a 10 block radius of my house, little jfood has lots of options.

You're right (of course). Website still lists LCN as open on Sundays, I just called & confirmed that they're NOT open on Sunday now.

Oh good, I'm not crazy, they DID used to be open on Sundays. I know they fooled me earlier this year because they were open on NYE, which fell on a Sunday, so I was telling people for a while they were open on Sundays.

I think Emeril's is fun and very lively. I've taken some kids that age there, who enjoyed it very much. Its open on Sunday evenings. Upperline is also open on Sunday evenings. We had a superb meal there on Easter Sunday evening. We had my 18 year old nephew with us, who has requested a return trip. He also enjoys Emeril's. He loves Mr. B's, but we have not yet been back since it reopened. We are giving it a bit more time. I'm not sure if B's is open on Sunday evenings yet.

Sunday is a tough night. We actually moved August to Sunday Night since Lilette and Vizard's are both closed. I believe Cochon is also closed on Sunday. Stella is open but doesn't sound like that is what you are looking for.

For fun and good food, I'd look into the dates/hours of Cochon. We had fun with nephews, ranging from 21 to 32. All had fun and great food and service.
