Breakfast near El Dorado Hotel in Reno?

I'm staying at the El Dorado Hotel / Casino tomorrow night and am looking for a breakfast place that's nearby and open at 6am. Any suggestions? Since I'll be meeting friends there, the nearer to Hwy 80 the better. Thanks!

  1. The El Dorado has some of the best food of any of the casinos. Just go to the coffee shop there.
If you don't want to eat there, the only place that comes to mind is Peg's Glorified Eggs and Ham on Sierra Street between California and LIberty. I think they open at 6 a.m. It might be later. It's gotten mixed reviews on the board.
By the way, you know there's now a restaurant in Reno called Peony?

I would ditto this recommendation for the El Dorado coffee shop. I just had breakfast there with some visiting friends last week and it was good. One of these friends puts Sally (In "When Harry Met Sally") to shame in terms of her ordering tecnique ("Eggs poached so that the white is very hard and the yolk runny, tomatoes on the side and bacon extra crispy, wheat bread untoasted and a side of mayo.") She actually called over the manager to tell her how perfectly poached her egg was.....

At that hour in the am you shouldn't have any problem getting valet parking (free but a small tip is expected), or your friends can park in the parking garage for free......

Voila Cafe down California a few blocks is good, but I don't think they are open that early. And parking there could be a problem!

Voila! opens at 7 a.m. and so does Stone House, iirc.

Thanks for the recommendation! Going to the El Dorado coffee shop certainly makes things easier for us, I'm glad the food there is good :)

They have a coffee shop on the premises and it was really good.
If you get a chance, Roxy's for french food is outstanding and we had a great casual dinner at the Brew Brothers..
