Milwaukee - Has anyone tried Tulip?

AnneInMpls Aug 28, 2007 09:24 AM

I'm heading to Milwaukee for two dinners - one at the Three Brothers, of course. I'm thinking of Tulip for the other, as I adore Turkish food. I've seen one good review (Shepherd Express) and one bad one (OnMilwaukee.com said the service was abysmal).

Would love to hear from MKE chowhounds on this place.

Thanks,
Anne

Alas, we had to leave Milwaukee before dinner on our second day, so I didn't get to Tulip on this trip.

We had a lovely dinner at Three Brothers - spinach-cheese burek and beef goulash. And we went three times to the Public Market to get smoked salmon on a stick from the St. Paul Fish Company. Wow, is that stuff great! Other favorites were the "market blend" hummos from the Middle Eastern stand and the huge chocolate cookie with the goofy name from the C. Adams Bakery. (We loaded up on food to eat on our evening drive back home.)

Next time, we'll stay longer so we can try Tulip, Jake's, Noodle House, Mercado El Rey, and Speed Queen BBQ.
