Sushi & Robata - SF or Peninsula

Greetings,

I would like to find a place for dinner this week, that does a good job of both serving Robata as well as decent sushi (does not have to be superlative).

Ideally located within the city or the peninsula.

Similar places that come to mind would be Angelfish in Alameda and Kirala in Berkeley.

Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

Cheers !

The only place in the Peninsula that might fit the bill, but does not come anywhere close, is Tomokazu in Burlingame. I have not been in a while, but last I did they had robata and sushi (of course). Chinese or Taiwanese run, but Kirala is still king in having both.

If skewers is more your thing, head further south to Saizo, and of course there's Sumika for mostly chicken bsaed skewers, and Sumi-ya in San Jose.

I may end up going to Saizo. I have heard nothing but good things about this place.

An option is Oyaji out in the avenues.

I've heard very polarized reports about Oyaji. Any recent experiences from 'hounds ?
