I'm looking for a sugar melting pot. Single purpose. Yeah, I know it's a luxury but I make a lot of caramel and syrups.
Fantes has this one in unlined copper http://fantes.com/images/20760copper_cookware.jpg but it only comes in two sizes: .75 qt or 2.5 qt.
Too small if I'm going to have just one. Too big for most of what I do. I feel like Goldilocks. I need one that's just right.
Who else makes this type of pot? Where can I get it in the US?

I got mine from Sur La Table. I think it's mauviel, but it might be the other brand they carry. It is usually on their web site if you don't have a Sur La Table nearby. They had it in two sizes and I got the larger one. It has a wood handle and a little lip for pouring. I use it to make candies at Christmas time and absolutely love it. Once in a while Sur La Table has a sale on all of their copper (something like 10 or 20% off), so if you don't need it right away and want to save a little, you may wish to look for that sale.

E Dehillerin shows copper pots of various sizes, but without the pouring lip. They probably have them with the lip but just don't show them on their web site. Shipping from Paris should be interesting. It might be a good excuse for a long week-end in Paris.

Hmmm. Trip to Paris. No trip to Paris. Thanks, YayaDave. Exactly what I was looking for. One of the ones at Chefs Corner is even the same as the one Sur La Table had that Baloo had gotten but at a much lower price (SLT has since discontinued it.)
I love Dehillerin but am always so overwhelmed when I visit that place that I can't even imagine mail ordering from them in another language.
I've got some specialty copper pieces that I bought years ago when I visited Villedieu-les-Poeles in Normandy where they make Mauviel and other brands. The prices are fabulous. Almost enough to pay for a plane ticket if you plan to purchase enough copper cookware on your trip. Can't justify it for one pot though so this looks great. Merci beaucoup!
