Best Manhattan Whole Foods?

Union Square? Chelsea? Columbus Circle? Bowery?

Take your pick...

I vote Bowery...huge store, shiny. Great selection with new addition of Artisanal French Fry bar and Gelato bar.

    1. Haven't been to the Bowery yet - though someone recommended its cheese cave to me - but of the other three, Chelsea, if only for the semblance of sanity I find shopping there as opposed to at the other locations.

      1. Bowery!! Amazing cheese cave. Plus great selection and airy, large space. Free wifi in the 2nd floor cafe area, too, if that makes a difference for you.

        1. FYI, then, I went to the Union Square store the other day (much closer to my apartment) and they gave me a coupon for $5 off if I spend $25 or more at the Bowery store. Coupon expires end of August.

Hopefully the Bowery location will siphon off some of the traffic from the Union Square location--it's always so crowded. The long lines do move quickly once you get in them, but just the sheer amount of people there and elsewhere in the store makes it hard to move around, especially when you're carrying something.

          2. Pretty much the newest one, wherever it happens to be, is the always the nicest one. They have an "A"/opening team they move around to kind of muster the troops, who're quite good at their jobs, apparently. Things fall down pretty obviously a little while after they're gone. I don't know what happens to them after WF saturates a given market, hopefully they redistribute them since the regular staff at the other stores is politer than say, your run of the mill Food Emporium but often no more functionally helpful...
