REC's for bday dinner for 8

Friend's birthday this Thursday. Need a place to accomodate 8 women (33 yrs old)
looking for good food, service, ambience.fun place, trendy would be ok. something exciting
looking to spend around $50-$60 per person.
Italian, American, Greek, Spanish cuisine's preferred
anything below 18th Street

    You can try Alta for Spanish tapas or Crispo for Italian. They should be doable at $50-60 including drinks, tips, and tax.

      I wouldn't call Crispo particularly trendy but what the heck -- the food's great and the atmosphere friendly.

        Alta would be a capital choice for fun, trendy birthday, though I wouldn't call it straight-up Spanish. It's more like Spanish with a helping hand from across the Mediterranean. Boqueria would be great for straight Spanish, though it's one block outside your range.
