Cooking Classes in Denver, CO

A friend and I are interested in taking a cooking class or classes in Denver. We would particularly like a class on Indian cuisine, though we'd be open to any other suggestions. I've checked out Colorado Free University, and they aren't offering a very wide range of choices at the moment. Does anyone have any other suggestions? Thanks!

    Try Cook Street www.cookstreet.com or A Cook's Kitchen (www.acookskitchen.net)

If you are willing to travel half an hour to 45 minutes from Denver, I would recommend classes with former restaurateur, Royal Bengal Catering owner and chef Roma Mukherjee Melrose. She offers classes from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. at 6940 N. 63rd St., which might be Niwot or Longmont (I'm not quite sure). Cost $65 per class. For more information, call 303-530-0944.

That's Longmont, near Haystack Mountain. I'm with Claire on this one. I ate at Roma's restaurant and I doubt there is a better authority in the state. If your group size is large enough, she might be willing to come to you.

In Boulder, there is the Culinary School of the Rockies: http://www.culinaryschoolrockies.com/
They have classes for "home cooks" as well as aspiring professionals.

Indeed they have classes for home cooks, but I don't believe there's anything Indian on the schedule for several months. I believe that Roma has taught there in the past.

Seasoned Chef http://www.theseasonedchef.com caters to the home cook. Looks like there's an Indian cuisine class in September.

I am pretty sure Sur La Table has classes.

there is also Mise en Place in the ice house downtown. The best place by far or at least a front runner with cook st.. Also Claudine Pepin has opened a class somewhere in the Denver area maybe Cherry creek? I would look on Westword.com for more about that.

A Cook's Kitchen (link in my first post) is Claudine Pepin's place.
