Saw a sign that Sens opens October 1. Probably a firm date since the restaurant inherited all of its permits etc. from MCC.

FWIW the Chron reported yesterday that Anthony Lemortellec, former chef of MCC, is now at Plouf.

Chron has some info today: chef Michael Dotson, pastry chef Shuna Lydon, North African, Greek and Turkish influences, local / sustainable, opening late next month.

This place is coming full circle--Splendido, the first restaurant to open in the space after Pat Kuleto's circa-1990 makeover, started with a strongly Greek-influenced pan-Mediterranean menu before heading in a more strictly Italian direction.

That Web site seems to be dead.

Change in ownership or just a makeover / relaunch?

You're right. It worked yesterday. Don't know more than what I gleaned off the old website.

Before we got a chance to try it, sadly, as it sounded perfect for a query I posted a few weeks ago. I can't imagine the name helped, I was always reminded of the restaurant near the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland.

Always sad when a good business closes.

Don't be sorry that you didn't get to MC. I went there a number of times for business lunches, cocktails, etc. and was extremely disappointed every time.

I look forward to something better from the restaurant that is going to open in that space.

I had several good meals there in the past 2-3 years, but every time I went it was a different menu with a different chef, so I was always dubious about recommending it. Really seemed like they needed new owners with a strong vision.
