Food near Socrates Sculpture Garden

What's the word on good places for casual eats near Socrates? I'll have kids in tow so the closer the better. Thanks.

Do they like Mexican food? On Broadway and about 23rd, halfway from the subway to the park, there are several very good hole-in-the-wall Mexican places that can be excellent. There's one on the South side of the street that's particularly great, with tables up front, groceries on shelves on the right, and a counter to order in the back. I wish I could remember the name...!

At the risk of showing my ignorance, where is the Socrates Sculpture Garden?

Socrates is in L.I.C. on the East River (or visa versa). It is a fun place to visit but does not really have the size or intertest to hold you for an entire day. But up the street is the Noguchi Museum and that is really a neat place to visit. You have to check its hours b/c it closes fro the winter (I think) .You should be able to Google both places for exact locals

Going for the afternoon. Kid-friendly exhibit and free concert. Love to fit in a little food, since I go to Queens so rarely.
