Irvine Farmers Market recs

The farmers market in Irvine is probably one of the biggest and best farmers market in Orange County. But, the problem with so many different vendors, is how do you know which ones to buy from? I know Zuckerman farms is the one to turn to asparagus, but I'm not sure about who to turn to for peaches, tomates, etc...

For peaches, my favourite is Tenerelli Orchards. For figs and pluots, the large stand in the second aisle (counting from the Indian restaurant side), on the left side as you head toward In-N-Out. Best melons are from the guy almost at the end, next to the juice vendor, and best salad greens and zucchini blossoms are from the guy on the other side of the juice vendor. While the Asian veg from the crowded booth near the Indian restaurant is cheapest, I prefer the one near the juice vendor, with the signs in Traditional Chinese. I go to Z Ranch for asparagus and potatoes. Peppers are from the guy at the end of the produce "round" near I-N-O; bread from the Armenian guy, last on the left before the peanut seller. If you haven't tried Cookies Con Amore or the granola guy, DO... and Blackmarket Bakery has fantastic treats.

I usually just price shop and look for the most fresh produce, but in all honestly their prices aren't really that cheap compared to other markets on sale.

The quality, however, is much better than your typical Vons type store.
