SWEDISH CHEDDAR- SCORE! (check it out, MMRuth and Maria Lorraine)
Hello to those of you who so graciously tried to help me out back in July, on my quest for this childhood favorite... my Dad, who recently took a business trip back to our old city of Gothenburg, just returned- with an entire wheel! 7 lbs. of the creamiest, golden yellow cheddar like only the Scandinavians make. The only people around here who know of it are me, my mom, and my brother (who isn't at all interested). I don't care if I get fat- I'll be incorporating this for many breakfasts, lunches, and dinners to come.
BTW, I did take your advice- I contacted several people/internet suppliers, to no avail. But I do very much appreciate your help. I asked him what they called it (he bought it at Saluhallen), and he simply said "cheddarost". I won't ask how he got it here, I am just grateful that he did. Some stories have happy endings, after all :)

Well, I am so pleased that you found the cheese you were craving. It would be great if you could more specifically identify it, perhaps by writing Kvibille, the producer. Any chance they import it to the US? Glad I could help, and thanks to MMRuth for posting the original thread.

So glad to hear it - any chance of getting a photo? Are there any markings on the wheel?
