Where to find a Midwest Pork Tenderloin Sandwich - Phx Metro

My SO and I were heading to Midwestern Meats in Mesa today to stock our cooler full of Carniverous Goodies for our upcoming Labor Day BBQ.
We decided to grab a bite to eat in Midwestern's Restaurant....I went for the Traditional Breaded Pork Tenderloin Sandwich (7.99) w/ a side of Slaw and a side of mashed w/ gravy.....
The Pork Tenderloin had to be the juciest, most flavorful sandwich I have had in a long time....
My SO had the BBQ Pork Sandwich, he raved about how tender and moist the pork was....
Not being a huge Pork fan....I have developed a new craving for Pork Tenderoin Sandwiches.....

Any other recommendations in the Greater Phoenix area for this Midwest specialty?

  1. I can't vouch for the authenticity or quality of these sandwiches, but in poking around with Google, I found this out:

the Iowa Cafe in Mesa offers the breaded tenderloin (possibly in sandwich form)

I also found a mention of a place in Tucson serving this sandwich:

    Wags Family Restaurant
    4026 E Grant Rd, Tucson, AZ 85712

    Iowa Cafe
    5606 E McKellips Rd Ste 105, Mesa, AZ 85215

    1. GrainBelt Grill House in downtown Gilbert (the former Gonzo's) serves a really good one.

Had lunch @ the Grainbelt Grill House today w/ a friend. I had the ritz was great. It was coated in ritz crackers and probably deep fried. It was juicy tender and wonderful topped w/ a homemade country gravy and silky mashed potatoes. I had the lunch size portion and it more than enough to satisfy. My dining partner had the 'Maid -Rite' Sloppy Joe...he raved about it! Said it was just like he remembered from Iowa.

Service was attentive, lunch prices are moderate and the atmosphere is refreshing for not being a chain restaurant in the East Valley

Grainbelt made the Top 20 new restaurants in the valley in Phoenix Magazine so I've been wanting to try it out. Thanks for the review!

There is also a place on Bell, not too far East of I-17 that always advertises Tenderloin sandwiches on the outside of the place. Unfortunately, I have no idea what it's called and couldn't tell you if it's any good or not.

      2. There's a pretty good tenderloin sandwich at Duke's on McDowell Rd in Scottsdale, and on Mondays it's $2 (2.75 with fries) Also a Monday burger special -- same price and good.
