Tokyo with kids?

Long time Boston chowhound in Tokyo for a few days with kids - 8 and 12. Both willing to try some 'adventure' eating but probably middle of the road options best. Outside of sushi, any other suggestions? Great tempura lunch today at Aoi-Marushin near Asukasa. Thanks!

I would definitely take kids to a yakiniku or okonomiyaki place. It's fun to cook your own stuff and my family enjoyed these places while visiting.
