Solo Diner - Sausalito & Half Moon Bay

luvsseattle Aug 22, 2007 09:14 PM

I am leaving Friday morning for a long weekend. I'll be near Sausalito one night, and in Half Moon Bay two nights. I'm finding lots of great recs on the board, but none particulary geared toward solo diners.

I'm a late 20's Seattlite, am not afraid of any cuisine, and open to any sort of restaurant/eatery atmosphere .... and have never been to either place I am staying.

Any recs?

We've enjoyed Sushi Main Street in Half Moon Bay several times and sushi automatically lends itself to solo dining. Also a pretty place with lots of balinese furniture and a slate sushi bar.

Absolutely consider Cafe Gibraltar -- I spent several solo days in Half Moon Bay in June and stumbled on this little gem. No reason to worry about a table, as my first night there I was happy to sit at the bar and just ordered multiple starters. I was so impressed, I went back the following night.

For sure. Sushi Ran in Sausalito. Eat solo in the wine bar side. www.sushiran.com

Fish is a casual place in Sausalito, right on the waterfront, with good food if a bit expensive for an "order at the counter" place. Their about-$18 fish and chips are probably the best I've ever had.
